Today started out sunny then became a little overcast, but that didnt stop us from visiting one of our local favourite haunts! We took a trip to feed the ducks and squirrels which is always a nice way to spend our time. However, today was that little bit more special. While we stood on the bridge overlooking the ducks and Koi Carp in the moat, Lillie got chatting with one of the gardeners who works on the grounds. She asked him questions and he gladly gave her the answers. He also informed her that next month there will be plenty of activity for her to see with the arrival of baby Morehens. As we left Lillie said, "thank you for teaching me new things about the ducks and Koi Carp." His reply was, "youre very welcome." I walked away thinking how genuinely kind the gardener was to stop working and spare some time for Lillie's enthusiasm for more knowledge on her local wildlife. Knowledge that is evidently very important to her.
On our walk home, we also popped in to the Cats Protection shop...

... Lillie got this. We used to call them 'Fuzzy Felts' back in my day!

And I got this for a 'just in case moment' with Lillie or indeed myself! £30 to buy in a book store, but only cost me 50p. Now that was an offer I couldnt refuse!

Lillie has a thing for the arctic - all that snow! So, this was the first section we browsed through after lunch. Then out came the Human Body book - the book where we dare each other to touch the plastinated heart. It feels very strange, but in a nice yukky kind of way! It is a great book with plenty of pop up/lift up/movable sections to encourage any child, then again any adult too!

Lillie is now watching Peter Pan (2003). As for me, well now Ive updated our blog for the second time today, I think its time for a little siesta to get my weekend off to a good start!
Fuzzy felts - now that takes me back!! Looks like you got a real bargain with the book :o)
