Beautiful nails done by Lillie's lovely childminder, Lina...
Very thankful for Lina coming into our lives - Lillie comes home all smiles and happy, everyday. I can't ask for more than that. A blessing to be thankful for...
Lillie has also started seeing her Daddy again, which has been going well. Quality time together is making all the difference to Lillie. He also bought Lillie a mobile phone for her birthday, so Lillie has been chatting/texting him and other members of her paternal family. This coming Saturday, Lillie is going out for lunch with her paternal Grandparents, which I'm sure they will all enjoy. And next weekend, Lillie's Dad is taking her to see her sisters, step-brother and step-mum - I know she has missed her little siblings very much. So, I think lots of cuddles are in store, alongside plenty of smiles. A blessing to be thankful for...
Lillie spent the weekend before last making some cards...
The card on the left in the background - birthday card for her Daddy... The number '2' - birthday card for Lina's little boy and the butterfly in the foreground - a thank you card for a beautiful 91 year old lady and her daughter. Lillie's creative side. A blessing to be thankful for...
This week Lillie attended for the second week, a community centre, local to where Lina lives - Lillie has made some new friends. Friends who are connected to the Army, (Lina is an Army wife). This week Lillie helped out and read a book on Egyptians, which turned into a discussion with one of the volunteers she was helping. She has also been to the library - she borrowed a book about a young girl's dream to be in the Olympics. But, to my knowledge has not begun reading it yet! Her decision to read it or not. It's important she can make some of her own decisions at a young age - will teach her responsibilty and inner strength as she continues to grow. A blessing to be thankful for...
Activities at home have included playing Scrabble, surfing the internet, planning Thanksgiving Day (at Lillie's request, due to her interest/research as to why Thanksgiving Day occurs each year, in some parts of the world), completeing more activities in her Key Stage workbook she chose not too log ago and watching two films over and over again - Stand by Me and Warhorse Neither are for her age according to the 'cert' on both films, but I know both are suitable for her and both have been watched with me first. So, any questions, unsettling emotions, enlightenment and 'can I borrow your films?' have been discussed. Being able to discuss is a great way to communicate. Communication is vital for all relationships. A blessing to be thankful for...
Lillie returned to Girls' Brigade tonight - she did wanna give it a miss at around 15:30, but with some encouragement and my saying I would like to study in the library this evening, she had a change of heart. Her tiredness soon dissolved when we left. Her wish to miss the first night back after summer break was soon forgotten - a very happy, smiley girl exited the GB hall. Her words were 'I'm glad I went Mumma' And now she is tucked up safe, sound and sleeping peacefully. A blessing to be thankful for...
