A more solid path

Just a quick update, as my internet sevice has been on slightly dodgy ground!! Hopefully once, myself and some neighbours tell our service provider exactly what we think of their fault fixing procedure (or pretending to be fixing the fault!!) we hope to receive an acceptable level of compensation and not a lousy fiver credited to our accounts!!

Well, I would just like to share some news regarding the family court hearings that have been occurring since July 2012 regarding residence and contact. Lillie is to live with me full time and I am so relieved, as is Lillie and we can now settle completely in this knowledge of a more stable path for us both. In addition, the extra contact that has taken place since December, between Lillie and her Dad at his house with Lillie's step-mum and her 3 siblings has been going really well and Lillie has been having great times (more to be told amongst other things in my next post). So, this extra contact shall continue and I am so pleased for Lillie. She seems more settled and emotionally complete again.

There is one more obstacle to overcome though - another family court case - Lillie's Dad wants her to attend secondary school. I did explain at the family court hearing that I believe it is Lillie's decision to make and that the option for her to attend secondary school has always been discussed with her at various times. She has recently stated she doesn't want to attend any of the local comprehensive secondary schools, despite maybe kinda liking one and not very convincingly, out of  the four we researched online. She has added to that she would prefer to stay as she is.

I have my own opinions on the matter of the comprehensive schools we have looked into and in their defence, briefly and to be honest I would not feel comfortable with the whole process with the 'applying' to the Borough rather than the school. What is all that about? And yes I have stated that it looks like HE will continue. However, Lillie also knows her options extend further regarding her education 'not at home'. There are other types of schools to consider and possibly, the taking of the 11+ exams, which we are currently looking into. More on that another time. All I want is for Lillie to be fully informed and prepared either way before she reaches a final decision. And I will support and respect her decision. And more importantly do all I can to ensure she remains happy. But, for now we are very happy with being able to relax so much more now we know where we stand regarding residency.... This Mother's Day will be extra extra special...
