With it being the 'school' holidays for most children, Lillie has spent more time at her Dad's. It's been a week on, week off situation during this summer break. So, she has been having fun with her siblings. She has also been on a trip to Hastings, the cinema, seeing her cousin and just chilling out.
I had my little Angel return home Friday before last, but only for 4 days. She is now at her Nan's in Leysdown and having a nice time there. She went to a Children's Play Centre last Thursday, but reported that a little boy had been bullying some of the kids. Lillie was one of the children to be on the receiving end of some blows to her back. Lillie did report it though and rightly so! I have to admit I was fairly angry with such news, unfortunately I was not with Lillie at the time. So, I just discussed with Lillie that bullying is not acceptable and that it's unlikely she will attend this set up again. Although, I do believe there is 'something' that causes children to bully.
Thankfully Lillie won't let it bother her and was her usual happy self when I spoke to her yesterday. She had lots to tell me. A trip to Sheerness occurred yesterday morning and that she was popping to her Nan's land after her call to me, to see her Granddad and Daddy. The land has animals such as pigs and horses, so always fun for Lillie. from Sunday Lillie will be at her Dad's again until Friday.
Today she has been to the amusements and has her Dad, Step-Mum and sisters over at her Nan's. She also reminded me that it's her birthday in 5 days time!! So....,
..... next Friday is Lillie's 10th Birthday! I can't believe my baby girl will be hitting double figures! The time has zoomed by and will be celebrated with a small gathering of her Girls' Brigade friends and our two cousins at Café Sol http://www.cafesolgreenwich.com/ It's a Texan-Mexican Cantina and Cocktail Bar. Of course no cocktails yet!! Lillie and I aim to go every other month on a weekend. We love the food. So, a table for 6 kids and 2 adults has been booked. We've not had confirmation for 2 of Lillie's guests as yet, but fingers crossed they will arrive on the day. An added bonus is that I am allowed to take a Birthday Cake and Helium Balloons. I thought it a nice touch to make up some girly bags for Lillie's guests to take home. Will add a pic of these Monday, when I go shopping for them and the cake. The balloons will be organised Thursday.
Another exciting event to look forward to is a little trip to Westleigh, Bideford in Devon in September. I've scheduled a week off from work. So, 3 nights and 4 days for just Lillie and I. It will do us the both the world of good. The place I've booked up with, is a comfortable double room with private bathroom, veranda and breakfast in a farmhouse, situtuated on a 300 acre working farm. Our train tickets have arrived, a new suitcase bought and it will feel like a break away to a retreat. There are local attractions to visit, but Lillie and I will look deeper into these nearer the time. So, can't wait!!
There is something wonderful I would like to share - when picking up Lillie from Dee's on Wednesday I was presented with a beautiful ring Lillie had organised with Dee's assistance. Not too long ago, Lillie had bought a ring from a lady stall holder in Greenwich Market. Lillie took the lady's business card. So, with some of Lillie's saved pocket money and the business card, Lillie asked Dee to help her with ordering a ring for me. It's a ring that says 'beck' with a pretty little design on the back of the ring (palm side). Dee took Lillie to collect it on Wednesday and I am wearing it as I type. I have not taken a pic of it as yet, but will do for Monday's posting.
Lillie explained she wanted to say 'thank you' for all the things I do for her and the ring was her way of saying thank you. I shall say now that my little girl brought those 'happy tears' to my eyes that many of us parents experience. I was overwhelmed and replied to Lillie with that she did not have to buy me gifts to say thank you and that seeing her smile was way more than enough. However, this ring means the world to me and I am so proud of my daughter. She is the best daughter in the world. I shall treasure it forever and ever. I actually feel somewhat proud of myself too. Being a Mum is not the easiest job in the world, not that I think it's a job, but you the readers know what I mean. I must be doing ok at it. Well I know I am. My daughter's confirmation of that is all I need to know that I am. And thank you Lillie for coming into my life and making it even more richer. I love you to infinity and beyond and all the way home again xx
