Sickness, sun, seedlings and Sunday!!

To start, Lillie did not make it to the Bowling Party!! She was disappointed as was I, but it was out of my control seeing as she wasn't home that weekend. Her friend's gift is still waiting  to be passed on to her. That too was out of my control. First week, it was half term and last week my girl was recovering from being poorly. Sickness is surrounding my life these days! Since my birthday I have been poorly - high temp, dizzy, ears painful and head just feeling like it did not belong to me! I still worked that week and spent the evenings resting and only had myself to look after as Lillie was away. The first half of the week she was at her Dad's, then the remainder of the week at my sister's. She returned on the Friday and come Saturday was feeling poorly herself, so no work for me last Monday. There are all sorts going around at the mo - colds, coughs, ear infections, chicken pox and goodness knows what else!

On a brighter note, Lillie is getting excited waiting for her little brother, Jack to be born. Although, due to his no show and illnesses here and at her Dad's, Lillie stayed home this weekend. And it's been lovely just taking it easy and no snot squad to contend with. So, what els e has been occuring since my last post? Well, as mentioned Lillie stayed at my sister's at the end of the half term break - she had so much fun. She ate well, came home with some clothes that my eldest niece had given Lillie, played on the games, consol, chatted and watched tv with my sister and of course had fun with my youngest niece. They were also taken to the cinema to see Tinkerbell and the Pirate Fairy (2014).

I managed to dismantle Lillie's old bed and build her new one despite feeling as rough as a shelled beach!! I was indeed rather glad I managed to because it looked lovely once finished and Lillie was speechless on her return home. Though, this weekend has been more enjoyable in it for her as the bugs have moved out and she can finally sleep through the night now.

Built at last!!

Ready for my girl to give her approval or not!!

This morning's little lay in!! I think I have Lillie's approval...

As for the development of the seeds we sowed they have sprouted and are shooting up. Not all seeds germinated but we have a bit of every type we sowed and some are now outside, in the greenhouse Louis bought me for my birthday. It's been great when the sun has been out, as I and with Lillie's help at times, continued on with making the changes to our garden. The wildlife pond is half installed - just need more compost and plant some grasses, flowers and create some sort of ledge/bridge for the wildlife in case the run or leap (if a frog/toad) into difficulties where the deepish water is concerned.

Sweet Bell Peppers

Vine Tomatoes

Some Onions from seed and yesterday sowed some Gardener's Delight Tomatoes

Top shelf - Various herbs and Sweet Pea that's ready t be planted out with others I did yesterday

Bottom Shelf - more various herbs and 2x Sweet Bell Peppers that I'm seeing if they cope outside

A half filled soiled pot with a Red Climbing Rose that I bought from some of my birthday money!

Lillie visited the library this week and renewed the science books she borrowed. One book is a particular challenge for her but it's up to her whether she carries on with it or not at this moment in time. It's good that she is showing an interest in science as I hope she would like to delve further in the subject at some point in the future.

As far as her studying her course is going, she has begun her 4th TMA depsite not feeling great, so well done to her and good luck with this current TMA. She has to write a film review for a movie she has seen recently so she has selected OZ The Great and Powerful (2013). I guess she is half way through it now and has looked ahead at the next TMA which is food quiz. She has roughly answered the questions already without even starting the material for it! So, she is intrigued if her answers are correct! In my opinion I think 80% of them are...

Lillie has also hand made two cards this week - one for a little boy who goes to Lillie's child minder and shall be leaving soon. The other is a birthday card for her Nan. She is now sitting next to me watching Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked (2011) while busy doodling in her note book. She keeps sharpening pencils too!! Makes my head go funny just like when someone runs their fingernails down a blackboard or chalkboard for those who are politically correct.

I shall go make myself a cup of tea after I switch on today's dinner - roast pork, mashed potato, oven baked veg (carrots, parsnips and yellow pepper) drizzled in olive oil and topped with rosemary and sage. Then I shall browse the net for some more gardening tips!
