What a difference some 'Mummy' time has! Last weekend, I managed to recharge my batteries & start my TMA, which is still moving along nicely. Ive taken this assignment relatively slowly due to our glorious weather! The final version should be done & dusted by the end of this weekend, ready to post on Monday!
Anyway, this week has seen most of it spent in our garden! Monday was mowing grass & general mucking about out there. Tuesday, Lillie got a new paddling pool & lilo, so water sports was the main event!! My K225 books even got water pistoled, though I didnt see the funny side to it after about 4 times of saying "shoot that way!" So feeling hormonal, the sulking got the better of me & I came indoors for remainder of sunshine, lol...
Yesterday, Lillie & I were meant to be meeting up with another HEdding family within our borough, but that went slightly pear-shaped. Unfortunately I had to postpone. So early yesterday morning, I pitched a two-man tent in our back garden! Lillie loved it! For the past two summers she has had one of those half built tents for shielding against the wind & the sun's rays, so this year we took it to the next level! Once the warm nights set in I may even suggest we sleep in it one night! Our garden is surrounded by others so we should be safe enough!
I also got Lillie doing some lovely art work using coloured chalk on the patio! She loved that too! What she found amusing was how the image & texture of the chalks changed when water was involved! She realised it created a 'smoother' & 'softer' effect... Being the sometimes lazy lass that I am, Im still yet to upload the pics onto my comp. As soon as I do I shall upload them onto here! Lillie found it quite amusing when I said its a shame we cant jump into the pics like in 'Mary Poppins'! Being such a warm day, a trip to the seaside would be a welcomed adventure! Oh well, Im sure our trips to the coast this year will soon be upon us!
Unfortunately the tomato plants I put outside last week did not survive - thankfully Lillie was ok once I explained what had gone wrong. Anyhow, Ive planted out some more. They spend the day outside & are brought in at night for the time being. Im a complete novice when it comes to these little plants, but Im sure Lillie & I will discover how to make a success of them. 'Trial & Error' are key words in our house!
Today has brought more sunshine & warmth, so Ive managed to get some more words down for my assignment then I can enjoy the rest of day without thinking about facing it this evening if Im too tired! Lillie also found a recorder in her drawer last night. She has shown an interest in it before, but not where it has involved learning to play it! However, today she has. She is aware that I used to play when I was a little girl & played alongside another primary school friend in our school concerts. My music teacher tried so hard for me to take up the clarinet but that never materialised! Recorder practice & choir practice was enough for me! I wasnt going to take away any more of my playtime in the sunshine!! I didnt mind the idea for the winter months for obvious reasons, but these practice sessions were weekly and definitely not a seasonal occurrence!
This morning I heard that two HE'd children have expressed an interest in going to school. The Mum concerned is devastated at this request. However, she has allowed her children the 'choice' of where they are to be educated. I would like to say that I think these children are very lucky to have a Mum like theirs. I wish them all the best in their future.
Well thats it for today, Im off for a water fight once Im dressed!! Oh & have shown Lillie what sheet music looks like!
How ironic is this message? My TMA that I have been working on lately is for my Death & Dying course! Spooky!
