This last week has been quite exciting. Had some breakthroughs which is encouraging & keeps the determination flowing nicely! As mentioned in a previous post, Lillie & I were to have a discussion on extending our fruit/veg patch this spring. Well we spoke about what we would like to grow, how we would go about it and we also created a colour coded plan so we know exactly where to put what! From Lillie's plan, (see below) the different coded colours include tomatoes, red pepper, green pepper, yellow pepper, orange pepper, potatoes, rhubarb, strawberries, spring onions, rocket, lettuce and a section for a little herb garden. Because we have some gravelled space at the bottom of our garden which is not used for anything we have decided to create a boxed area to fill with organic compost for our new 'grow your own' patch! We are hoping Lillie's aunt & uncle will give us a helping hand to assemble the box from wood panels etc... They are not aware of this yet but soon will be once our plans are finalised.

Another tent built by Lillie!

Dinner time in there too!

Lillie's current reading book. Lillie's reading is coming along quite well. She is also sitting independently with her books that she knows, pointing to the words she recognises & trying to sound out some she doesnt. She certainly takes after her Mum with her love for books!

Lillie's soon to be 'springtime scarf'. I started it off with casting on the boa yarn which was quite difficult to knit with being quite thin and fluffy.

However, once the regular yarn commenced Lillie took over using the needles to get a feel for them while I pulled the wool around for her to knit with.

Great book for introducing teaching the time...

A wheel at the side of the book aids interaction...

Just covering the simplist four positions of time telling for now.

Lillie placed the hands on the clocks to correspond with the times I had written for her.

Lillie has been introduced to a PSP (Portable Play Station) this last week. The reason being is that she is showing an interest in games consols. So, I have given her this lovely pink PSP which belonged to me, as a way of seeing how keen she is with wanting a games consol. It will also help her with hand/eye coordination, making judgements on how to progress with a game, aid her reading aswell as teaching her patience. The game she is currently playing is 'Breath of Fire'. Its quite similar to the Final Fantasy/Zelda games.
Lillie also spent the day with her paternal Grandparents, Great-Grandmother, Great Aunt and cousin Richard last Saturday. Lillie had great fun and was exhausted when she came home so was asleep by 8pm! Also yesterday Lillie & I met up with my sister. I had to attend a meeting with my solicitor regarding Lillie's contact with her Daddy, which has temporarily stopped at my request. I would prefer not to go into any details, as it wouldnt be fair to Lillie in my opinion for me to reveal the ins & outs of this quite recent event in our lives. I did indicate in a previous posting around christmas time regarding an emotional issue we were both going through, yet also stated that we are both ok. Hopefully her contact with her Daddy will resume asap for her sake, but she is surrounded by a supportive & loving family who she can talk with at any time if she feels she needs to.
After my meeting we both went home with my sister for dinner. Lillie got to see her Uncle & two cousins and of course Harvey the dog! We came home with some things that had belonged to Louis when he was just a boy. These things included some videos and a 'micro machine' army tank that opens out into an army base camp. Also Lillie's cousin Billy gave her his 'Hogwarts' castle seeing as she is quite a Harry Potter fan! Plus some of his cars etc & there were also some there belonging to her Uncle! This morning Lillie started looking at the things she was given yesterday & seemed quite interested in the toy planes, especially one which was a fighter jet plane. So we logged on to
http://www.youtube.com/ so Lillie could see what they can do in the sky. She loved all the spins & turns & we even watched one video where a formation of fighter jet planes were flying under a passenger plane! It was quite something to see... What is strange though is that two weeks ago a free book & DVD came through the door titled 'Super Fighters'. Yes Im sure youve guessed it, the freebie was to do with fighter jet planes! I put it in our suggestions box of interest not expecting to be seeing it again for some time. How wrong was I?!!!
Anyway Lillie is currently playing with her cars, tank etc & I shall start preparing our lamb curry. Not doubt I will have two little extra hands assisting me when the little lady of the house knows what Im upto!!
Great tent! A still enjoys building tents with the furniture and blankets, sometimes they take over the living room!
