Birthday!

My birthday yesterday got off to a not so good start! Lillie informed me that her Nan had told her on Saturday that she thinks Lillie should go to school! Lillie asked her why & according to Lillie, her Nan said she must go to school! I didnt want to confront the issue yesterday being my birthday & not wanting any heated debate to occur. However, I will confront the issue with Lillie's grandad when I speak to him next. I would prefer to speak directly with Lillie's Nan, but we do not have a good relationship anymore & the chances of her hanging up the telephone on me is quite high!
Its odd to hear this though, as when I made the decision last year to not send Lillie to school & educate her at home, I was under the impression from Lillie's Dad that both his parents were all for it? Anyhow, if Lillie's Nan has changed her mind then thats her perogative. But I hope she has changed her mind after looking into how schools operate nowadays compared to when her sons' were in school. I hope she has looked into HE too. And I hope she remembers that her youngest son (Lillie's Dad) was a regular school truant! What does that tell her? At the end of the day I think I know Lillie better than anyone & I also know that I am giving Lillie a different yet wonderful lifestyle. When Lillie gets to the age of 11 & ever asks whether she can try school then we will cross that bridge if & when we reach it. But until then I will not have anyone thinking they can tell Lillie what she should & now for the funny part 'must' do regarding school! Its clear to me that Lillie's Nan hasnt looked into HE. If she had she would certainly know that it is legal to HE!
Once I had calmed myself down the day just gotta better & better! I had to pop to the shop & when I came back Lillie had got Louis to help her with a suprise for me! I had to close my eyes before entering the living room. When I did there were balloons, a birthday banner, cards & pressies waiting for me! So thank you my wonderful children - you certainly made your Mum smile & get teary eyed!
Louis & Lillie relaxing while waiting for dinner, which was delicious if I say so myself! After, Louis & I played Scrabble while we all ate cheesecake. Lillie watched to get a feel for it, as she wants to learn. I think it will benefit her with spelling & indeed reading, which are coming along very nicely as it is.
We also watched a family film on Channel 5 - I fell asleep! But a little snooze done wonders for me when I woke up! Lillie went off to sleep really quickly tonight, so another game of Scrabble was played before I settled down to watch 'The Victorians' & 'Damage' on BBC1. While I was into my TV programmes Louis chatted happily with his friends online. Every ten minutes or so, one of Louis' friends wished me a Happy Birthday, which was nice as well as the all messages left for me on Facebook & MSN!
So all in all my birthday turned out to be a relaxing, yet lovely day! All that is left to finish off yesterday, is the decider game of Scrabble with Louis! It could be difficult beating him, as he can play too well when he is in his competitive mood!!
