Friday - Sunday

Friday morning began with an extra early start - a trip to The Maritime Museum in Greenwich had been planned in light of Lillie's australia project, in addition to also working on Captain James Cook last week. The bus there was hectic - I forget school children exist at times - I don't mean that in a bad way. It's just something I rarely consider these days. Anyhow, the school children were heading to the same location as Lillie and I, and like Lillie and I were bursting with enthusiasm. One little fella gave up his seat for Lillie and his teacher congratulated him on his good manners and consideration for others. Of course Lillie and I said thank you too. Recommend viewing the toy boats - lovely little film to watch as well...
We found what we came for in relation to Captain Cook - Lillie loved the scale model of The Endeavour and I enjoyed an interesting conversation with the guide in the 'Oceans of Discovery' room. He loved the fact Lillie was being home educated and told me that he had been too, while growing up in Somerset. So, you can assume how much I enjoyed our conversation. He also gave Lillie and I some info on Ned Kelly for Lillie's Oz project, which I thought was very kind of him and continued on my way with Lillie - both smiling and saying what a nice guide he was.
Lillie successfully managed to set the correct longitude/latitude co ordinates on the screen behind her, to discover more about Captain Cook.

Taking a little breather from her discoveries...
And Lillie wasn't the only one taking a little breather!!
Some postcards for Lillie's project
Saturday also started early - Lillie was eager to be ready and up our local high street to buy her friend, Catherine a birthday gift. The party at Pizza Hut started at noon - I had a quick chat with my friend, Ann (Catherine's mum), and said my goodbyes, before heading to the library for a two hour intensive study session. That went well and I now have my material for a TMA! After picking up Lillie, we headed for home and just relaxed for the rest of the day, watching tv and playing on the Wii.
Sunday, Lillie was in charge of making dinner. I assisted her of course, yet felt quite pampered.

Lillie also laid the table, she insisted on using her Great Great Grandmother's little table cloth and having wine glasses for some squash to go in.
Lillie's dinner - which she said was delicious and I agree that it was.
After the table was cleared, we sat all cosy on the sofa, covered with a blanket and watched one of our fav movies - Peter Pan (2003) A lovely end to a lovely long weekend.
