It's coming down!

In a previous post I mentioned creating a Grammar Chart for Lillie, to generate a fun, yet educational way to further develop her writing skills. This was worked on in more detail together, this afternoon. We've found a great way to achieve this goal. It will also include further development on punctuation and will conclude with a story written by Lillie.

The concept we have come up with, is for Lillie to create a little neighbourhood - Grammar Road, Punctuation Avenue and Story Street.

Grammar Road - will have 8 houses - each one will be named by their owners: Mr Proper Nouns; Miss Common Nouns; Mrs Pronouns; Doctor Adjectives; Professor Conjunctions; Vicar Prepositions; Ms Verbs and Master Articles. Within each house, there will be words (with illustrations where possible) that belong to the Head of each Household.

Punctuation Avenue - The same will apply as in Grammar Road, however using business buildings rather than residential ones to represent the various punctuation marks, including some form of description of the job they do.

The end result will be Story Street, located at the end of the above named places. In other words, a ficticious story written by Lillie to demonstrate her further understanding of grammar and punctuation being used.

The little 'neighbourhood' will be displayed on our kitchen wall, designed in a big and colourful way, using words and illustrations. But, first...

... we need to take down what's already displayed and store away with work previously created by Lillie over the years.

It's all coming down, possibly tomorrow!!

To Be Continued...
