W is for weekend

Lillie and I welcomed the weekend! No alarm call for two days! Despite some studying, plus a fair amount of paperwork I had to do which meant having to cancel our Sunday dinner arrangements with our Aunt, we still had an enjoyable weekend...

Friday afternoon was a chillaxed one and Lillie's puzzle successfully completed with some team work, giggles and a high 5...

From this, which started on Thursday afternoon...

... to this, which was completed on Friday - Moshi Monsters Mania!!

Another Friday moment - A birthday card for a one year old little fella, who is also looked after by Lillie's childminder

A personalised message from Lillie to the Birthday Boy!

Some leaflets I picked up from the library on Thursday - Lillie and I browsed through them Friday evening. Some will be put on our 'to do' list. Lillie is very keen to visit Britain's Museum of Popular Music

Saturday's little shopping trip - 2 x pair of boots, hair products and some food shopping with heart shaped treats for all...

Lillie's new heart shaped, patterned Wellington Boots - will be nice for walking, gardening and hopefully wearing on the allotment I applied for (still waiting to hear about this, shall be contacting the council again as advised on the Facebook Allotment group I've joined).

More heart shapes - St. Valentine's Day choc treats for my clients next Thursday. I'm sure they will  all smile lots and lots

A homemade Chilli with extra hot jalepenos

Sunday's are sooo chilled, but the learning never stops - Lillie had a fun time starting on her Grammar/Punctuation project. First the wall was cleared to make way for a little neighbourly development!

A blank canvas or bulldozing in construction terms!!

This girl simply brings a whole new life to working informally on something as formal as Grammar!

Taking a closer look...

And an even closer look - talk about nosey neighbour!!

This location will be for business premises!!

While I tackled the little mountain of ironing, Lillie decided to take up some languages on her laptop. Spanish and French words were repeated and with a very good attempt to use accents. Lillie repeated some words to her Dad when he called during her self-teaching language lesson - She told him how to say chocolate in Spanish and table in French. I think she did very well and may leave my Spanish language books out, accidently on purpose. Lillie is welcome to pick them up and take a peek!

Sunday dinner - lamb sprinkled with dried mixed herbs, sliced potatoes, broccoli, carrots and parsnips, mint sauce and gravy followed by...

... mixed fruit strudel and custard - shop bought I have to say. But, it was still yummy nonetheless!
Scottish smoked salmon, drizzled in mild olive oil, freshly squeezed lemon juice and topped with dried Dill is on tomorrow's menu  - can't wait!

Then we settled down to watch a history prgramme - Richard III: The King in the Car Park and a nature programme - Natural World: Giant Otters of the Amazon. Both great and very educational no matter how young/old one is... Oh, and a pest control issue was dealt with!! So, more science!! We had to go through Lillie's hair with a nit comb for the second time in a week - there has been a case of head lice at my childminder's. So, Lillie was checked last Wednesday, was clear of lice but not unhatched eggs. Hope we got the little critters on this second, just to be sure occasion today. Though thankfully, home educated children don't get them as often as school attending children - another benefit of H.E :o)

And now, Lillie is sleeping and I am off to make some supper and a cuppa.... Lillie will be at her Dad's this time next week. With the schools being on Half Term, she will be away for next weekend right up to the Friday after. It will certainly feel different around here. Though, I do hope she has a lovely and funfilled time. I have begun making plans for that week. I thought it best to, as I hope the time will feel like it's ticking away more quickly this way.
