Today I heard from the Student Advisor at http://www.oxfordhomeschooling.co.uk/
regarding Lillie wanting to enrol on one of their Key Stage 3 courses (Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) and Citizenship). Usually the preferred age of intake is 11+. However, back in the Spring I made enquiries for Lillie to commence earlier, as she took an instant liking to what she and I had read on the website.
Lillie was almost 10 at the time, but after some discussion with the Student Advisor and her seeking to discuss the matter with a colleague first, it was put to me that if Lillie was still interested when reaching the age of 10 then to make further contact. Well Lillie has frequently mentioned the course of interest and not long after reaching 10, I made further contact.
Today's call has made Lillie's choice, to enrol on this course Official! Lillie is chuffed to bits and cannot wait for the course materials to arrive soon after the final paperwork has been completed by myself.
I am so proud of Lillie for not giving up on something she wished to do. And what was so lovely to hear, when she was getting settled to a good night's sleep was to thank me for my support. I just smiled and replied that she did not have to thank me and that I will always support in any way, shape or form that I can.
My beautiful and happy daughter is sleeping now. And even though Lillie skyped her child minder Dee earlier, to share her good news, I'm certain Dee will be hearing even more in the morning, after I have dropped Lillie off.
