Recovering from yesterday!

Our trip to the local shop this morning took a slower pace than usual! My legs are still somewhat achey from yesterdays little adventure! On our way home, we took a different route - a more greener one! I noticed plenty of Holly about and am wondering whether its legal to take a clipping, so as to grow my own, especially for christmas time. I shall have to look into this, as I dont fancy being arrested for holly theft, lol... Though I could go late at night & its not like Im out to destroy a holly bush is it?

With autumn soon upon us, I usually have a good old clear out rather than do it in the spring. So Ive made a start on clearing out my desk & Lillie helped organise her activity box. We did get a little distracted with a game of snap & word snap! Lillie won both games! Though in theory I should have as Lillie suggested we swap hands! Oh well, Lillie was amused, as for me I shall not do that again! Talk about act like a big kid!!

Lillie also updated her 'All About Me' book - this second volume is almost full, so will have to buy another folder soonish for the next one. Its so lovely to look back over this last year and see how her drawings/handwriting has developed & how much she enjoys playing/working with numbers! Our days out and about also get their own pages which always gives us those memories to talk about. Lillie also finished off colouring in her flags for her 'British Castles & Palaces' project. Then we got busy with sticking those into her scrapbook, as well as add some pics we printed out from the http://www.historyonthenet.com/ website.

Unfortunately we run out of glue, so Lillie was unable to build a rocket from food boxes, etc... So glue is now on my shopping list! What Lillie did do was to start designing on paper how she would like her rocket to look - Once its finished I shall upload it.

Im on the look out for a sewing machine, so shall take a look on the http://www.freecycle.org/ website. I dont mind buying a brand new one, but it would save a few pounds if there is one going for free! I would like to start making some dressing up clothes as well as everyday clothes for Lillie & indeed for myself. I seem to be wanting to go down the road of wanting to live 'The Good Life'. Ive always been fascinated with the idea, but lately its very slowly starting to become a reality. Its quite strange really how I learnt to knit at a very young age & also passed my fashion & textiles exam in secondary school. So I know how to use patterns, needles, pins, Taylor's chalk & a sewing machine! I also enjoyed many afternoons sitting at the kitchen table with my Nan shelling, slicing & chopping homegrown fruit/veg. This might explain our own little patch & the saving of more seeds to add to our collection of homegrown fruit/veg! Perhaps I was destined to live as self suffiently as I can afterall... Who knows?

Well Lillie is chilling out on the sofa watching Cbeebies, so I can browse about for a sewing machine while the dinner cooks.
