Yesterday Lillie began her own blog all about food & drink! http://littlecooklillie.blogspot.com/ Its no secret that she has a passion for food & enjoys helping out in the kitchen as & when she can or instigates a baking session. Though Im not entirely sure where this eagerness to be involved has come from. Im no Gordon Ramsay when it comes to being out in the kitchen, unless its autumn/winter time & I can just throw lots of foods into a pot or make a roast, let it cook slowly, then voila!! So I can only guess that sharing the same enthusiasm for eating food has played a part.
Plus, for as long as I can remember Lillie has watched cookery programmes aimed at kids - 'Big Cook, Little Cook' being the first & now 'I Can Cook' is the latest show. Lillie's world comes to a halt & there is no chance of her moving on with life until the credits are rolling! I even find myself making jokes with her regarding her love for food, nothing horrid as that would be a bad move, more like jokes for encouragement. For example, while I was browsing through the Argos catalogue last Monday evening, I joked that I was going to buy her a pasta making machine. Her eyes lit up! She asked if she could have one for her birthday or for Christmas. We then went on to joke about how funny that would be to ask Santa for a pasta making machine. Does Santa even bring toys like this?
And lately she has taken to making me breakfast in bed, yesterday was the second time in just over a week & as Im posting she has chopped a banana and mixed it with some apricot yogurt, giving it the title of 'Banana Swamp' which she wants to recommend on her blog!
It is so lovely to see her engaged in something entirely created from her own will that just keeps growing & growing :)
