As for other things this week, it's been mostly organising and doing. This morning will see us attending an appointment that Lillie may be able to sit in on. It's not an appointment that I want to attend. More like a case of no option. It's family stuff that still needs resolving, so I hope my voice will be heard, as it's apparent this conflict has been going on for far too long and has been very upsetting for Lillie and I at times. Though I have to admit I would have to add anger to my feelings about it all. I just don't understand some people's attempt to 'pass the buck' and not take responsibilty for their own actions. Emu and sand come to mind. Hopefully, today's meeting will turn out to be a proactive occasion, so Lillie and I can move on with our lives without further troubles, especially for her.
On a lighter note, one of our growing onions has made a flower. Something Lillie and I was not expecting.
Lillie also has her final GB meet this evening, until September. So, another party for her to attend. She has also written two thank you cards this week, accompanied by a box of chocs for each. Each card and box of chocs being for her dance teacher and helpers and the other for the GB leaders. It's just her way of showing her appreciation for having such a great time and learning new things along the way.
Lillie also attended her first Judo training last Monday, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Judo means 'the gentle way' so no kicks or punches are allowed. The instructer was brill too, giving lots of encoragement to the beginners, but at the same time showing the discipline side. There were quite a few youngsters in attendence, which was good and gives Lillie even more opportunity to meet new people of different ages. Once the warm up was over with, it was time for Lillie to learn a few moves, such as starting to train herself how to land safely for when she is thrown down, how to escape from being put into a holding position on the floor and how to hold someone down on the floor herself. The session ended with a game of British Bulldog, which took me back to my youth and those long warm summer hols out playing with the neighbourhood kids. Lillie was very excited about telling me after how she felt about this first class. She knows it will be very good for her for so many reasons. Fitness, fun, discipline, sporting values, self-defence purposes, self control and learning about a new language and terminology. She can't wait for next Monday's training. And I have to say she looked very cute in the Judo jacket she's allowed to use for the time being. I think it made her feel part of a team, just like her GB uniform does.
Well I guess I should get my skates on, and get this morning's event over with, so Lillie and I can forget about it until the next time we can't, depending on the outcome of today. We have another fun afternoon and evening ahead of us, so that is something we are both looking forward too.
