Another brief catch-up!

Lillie and I have been fairly busy with a number of projects at the moment. From D.I.Y (redecorated bathroom) to working on numeracy (multiplication, division and introducing fractions). With the weather being glorious, the garden has been a main place to be in, with a couple of adjustments with how it's looking. We ususally walk to Girls' Brigade, but the summer brings a more enjoyable time, stopping off at the park or local historical garden.

Since Lillie performed a group dance routine for a GB presentation evening, her enthusiasm for dancing has increased even more. Through word of mouth and checking the website, we've found a very local dance class for her. The style of dance include, Latin, Ballroom and Freestyle Disco. There is also the opportunity to work towards medals and participate in competitions, go on theatre trips, see pantomines and attend dance festivals. Lillie is extremely excited by this. So, we're going to pop along to the next session on Wedsnesday so Lillie can see if it's the class for her. I'm confident it will be!
Little Miss Organised! I wish I could work that tidily...
Lillie's computer skills are improving all the time. I would say better than mine lol...

A few weekends ago, Lillie had previously won a game of Scrabble. It was her idea to place bets on the game. If she won, I would not be permitted to say 'no' for the whole weekend. Feeling quite reluctant about this, I did end up agreeing! If I had won, then Lillie would have had to tidy up my bedroom for the whole weekend. Nothing serious - just make my bed and pick up my clothes from off the floor! However, Lillie won and we had a fab weekend. She asked for a little party for the two of us, she went to bed at whatever time she chose, she had full control of the tv and chose what we were to eat for party food and sunday lunch etc... To add to her excitment, I made her a little 'well done' banner and put up a few decs for her. She was delighted with this. Little does she know, it was a little persuasive encouragement from me to her. The message being, 'to always try to give your best with whatever you do' and 'to enjoy the success of achieving whatever you do'. She's asked for another game since. I won! The message being 'to keep trying when things don't go to plan'. She handled the outcome of completing any small task I put her way for the first day and for the most part of the second day. I was very proud that she saw it through...

Two weekends ago, Lillie attended the annual GB sport's day. She participated in the skipping race and egg and spoon race. She had a lovely day and was awarded a certificate at the next GB meet. Well done, sweetheart.

As mentioned earlier about spending lots of time in the garden. I've added a few pics on some of the transformations the garden has been taking.

This was previously our veg patch that didn't do too well last year. So it was cleared and now looks like...

... this! More plants will be added as well as a small solar powered fountain for the centre piece. It will bring more wildlife into our garden and be a great learning tool for Lillie.

Seeing as the veg patch didn't do too well last year, I'm trying out a different option with using individual pots. It's going better than I thought it would do and seems easier to maintain - we've lettuce, green pepper, tomatoe, strawberries, beetroot, onions and spring onions plants growing here. Some carrot, leek, parsnips and brocolli seeds were also sown last week.

Sweetcorn here in front of the garden chair...

And another flower bed area that was created during last week too. Just needs more compost and plantage to complete. The tin dustbin seen on the left, that was living here before myself over ten years ago now, shall be converted into a compost bin. Oh and that shadow is me at 7 am this morning - Glad you can't see what I actually looked like at that time lol....

Today we might be attending a BBQ up at GB. If so, I'm sure to upload the pics at some point. Maybe I should add, update blog more often to my new Action Plan list! Doing it this way, seems to miss out things we've done as I'm thinking from the top of my head. Which at times needs to be screwed on... Oh well, C'est la vie!
