So what else has been occurring of late? A nice meal out at...
http://www.cafesolgreenwich.com/ I did take pics of our evening out on my mobile, but I can't remember for the life of me where I've put the SD card!!
It's a Tex-Mex Cantina and the food is very good indeed. Lillie chose from the non-kids menu and had room for cheesecake too! We popped along to see the Cutty Sark first. We only checked out the exterior as tummies were a rumbling! I for one was very impressed with the restoration and we shall looked forward to taking a trip to see on board. Probably when it's a little warmer! Sorry, weather, but you have been behaving very freakishly today with snow, hail, wind and sunshine!
Lillie has also attended a wrestling event with her Dad, step-mum and step-brother. She had a great time and has since written about that night. She wrote a first draft, edited it and has a completed the second and final draft, which is written very neatly in her literacy notebook.
Lillie and her great big wrestling sounvenir!!
Lillie has also been working on maths and more literacy this past week. Lina has been supporting Lillie with learning her times tables - 2x, 3x and today 4x, all three have been going really well and Lillie is not surprised to hear random times table questions heading her way by Lina or myself! As already mentioned, literacy has also been on the activity list - I have been setting Lillie little tasks in her literacy notebook - last week it was dictionary work - being able to 'use' a dictionary is a good skill to have and extends vocabulary. Lillie has been doing well and shall move on to knowing how to use a thesaurus in the not so distant future. Today she has been working on words that share the same meaning with other words and tomorrow I have set her words that mean the opposite to other words. She is whizzing through it all and enjoying every step of the way. She has also reading one of the HP books - The Prisoner of Azkaban. She had started the Winnie the Pooh Complete Stories, but has since ditched it for Harry!!
Another skill Lillie has been working on is being able to tie her trainer's laces. We started on Friday and she managed to tie both after a short while. She is still practicing until she gets them tied everytime. But, she is determined and successfully tied one lace at 06:45 this morning before we had to leave for dropping off at Lina's.
I've finally sent the annual HE report to my local Elective Home Education Officer - I did have it all typed up back in January, but no ink for printer and have kept forgetting to pick some up when out shopping. I'm always forgetting things or even the little reminders to myself in note form too! Anyway, I managed to track down the officer's email addy on our Borough's council HE page - I didn't fancy phoning. Why? I didn't wanna start talking about things when I've written a report and an amended one to because other things have progressed along since I wrote the original two months ago!! Anyway, I shall endeavour to update here when I hear back from the EHEO....
And then there was Mother's Day - that deserves a post all of it's own...
