Since I decided not to send Lillie to primary school this coming September, I have been pondering over whether to initiate contact with the LEA. After many hours of reading up on my right to opt for HEdding, I have also been preparing myself for the inevitable day when they come a knocking! Though I hear some HEdding families have never been approached!
I am fortunate to live in a community where those who know Lillie & myself are aware that primary school is definitely not going to be an option. So far I have been told to go for it! However, there are those who will be peeping out from behind their net curtains, curious as to why Lillie is not in school uniform & swinging her book bag with a school logo placed upon it for all to see! This is where it is possible the authorities will get to hear about my little 'school dodger'!
I am not willing to accomodate any visits to our home or indeed on 'neutral' ground as I feel this to be an intrusion. However, I am willing to provide them with the resources available to Lillie. If the need arises where they wish to view evidence of what Lillie does in her everyday life, I shall provide them with this blog!
After seeking some advice from other HE families regarding my possible intention of contacting the LEA first, the replies have been to wait for them to contact me! That is if they ever do! So that is exactly what I shall do..... I am already prepared for them just in case, so will carry on with enjoying the fact that I can provide a happy & safe enviroment for my daughter to continue to grow at her own pace.
