Loving the autumn...

Lillie & I so love the autumn. Watching the ground become covered in a beautiful golden colour carpet of rustling leaves that just invites you in and encourages you to run through them kicking & throwing as many up into the air is just magic. We have been on two day trips where we have been coming into contact with the local wildlife and enjoying our last piece of freedom before the spring. One of our favourite haunts is http://www.wellhall.org.uk/ We had a wonderful time starting with having lunch in the Rose Garden before moving on to feed the squirrels. There were so many that Lillie & I were completely surrounded by them, eagerly waiting for their share of monkey nuts to hide away for the winter. It was quite difficult taking photos with them being so close but I did manage to get several shots in the end. After this pic was taken, this very patient little fellow got that close to me where he was actually up on his hind legs resting his front ones on my leg. I was tempted to have a go at hand feeding him, but did eventually think better of it.

Time to feed the ducks in the moat. No Koi Karp were seen though much to Lillie's disappointment but she understood that they sink to the bottom for the winter.
Lillie preparing herself with hiding the last of the monkey nuts!
Another day out included a visit to our local Nature Reserve where there is plenty of open space to walk, play and enjoy the wildlife.

Lillie enjoyed the playground area, where she successfully completed the childrens' mini assault course.
Lillie liked being taller than me on this tree stump.

Lillie gave this tree a hug after this pic was taken.
