Other events to post...

Lillie has also visited Victoria Park in East London http://victoriaparkvillage.com/ while on one of her weekend stays with her Daddy. Seeing the long boats on the canal by the park inspired Lillie to create a beautiful collage during the week after her visit.
With Halloween being a highlight for October Lillie has been busy with making cards & masks.

And of course Halloween wouldnt be the same without decorations. These are meant to glow nicely in the dark! We didnt notice any glow though!! Lillie has also been doing a little cooking & baking with me...
... Fairy cakes for a nice tea time treat.
Clearing up too, which was nice for me!
Just a little last minute designing before they were all eaten that night!
Some other news to share is that Lillie has started keeping a diary for the past three weeks, which has been great with getting her writing & recalling her day. Though, I have had to write parts with her if she has not really shown alot of enthusiasm for actually writing herself. However, it is a step in the right direction and its been useful for me too as I dont seem to have much time for blogging lately, especially with having to get my first TMA in for this year's course. Ive also finished reading 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' to Lillie and have started reading her 'Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator' http://www.roalddahl.com/ She is enjoying these wondeful childrens' books and I am enjoying revisiting my own childhood.
Lillie has also been getting her own breakfast each morning for the past week, which has been nice for her and this in turn has got her wanting to make lunch for us both too some afternoons. She is getting to the stage where she wants a little more independence and of course it is nice to have lunch made for me on occasions.
Last weekend she was with her Dad and extended family. Her cousin celebrated his 18th birthday so Halloween night was fun for Lillie including dressing up & going out trick or treating with more cousins and her Dad's girlfriend's son. She came home Sunday evening feeling exhausted yet eager to tell me of her adventures.
Yesterday I enquired about Lillie joining the Girls Brigade at a local church hall as well as looking into any local Rainbows/Brownies groups. Once I am completely informed & spoke with Lillie, Im sure she will indicate which one she would prefer. Though it might be a good idea that she attends an evening with both groups to see where she feels more comfortable. Another activity that may be a possibility from early springtime are horse riding lessons. Just half hour lessons once a fortnight to start with and if she wishes to continue then she can always increase the lesson times. If she is still keen to try out this activity by the time spring arrives, it might be nice if we take lessons together. Make it a mother/daughter thing.
Today Lillie has not been feeling too well with having another cold, but she has still kept herself busy this morning with reading to me, gathering information from labels and packaging on tinned foods and a tube of tomato puree. She also practiced playing the recorder and is progressing nicely with that as well as getting to grips with Note E. So is now using both hands to play. Ive introduced her to 'Old MacDonald' by playing for her so as to familiarise her with the tune because this will be the next one she learns.
And now my little princess is resting on the sofa with a DVD after a refreshing bath. Why do children always appear to look so tiny when they are unwell?
