On returning home from work this afternoon, I had anticipated a nice relaxing rest of the day and some quality time with Lillie, after yesterday's hectic one. With having to go to my hospital appointment for an EMG straight from work and then having to do dinner etc as soon I got home and asleep by half nine, who can blame my thoughts for after work today? So did my plans for this afternoon come to fruition? In a word 'NO!' A letter had unexpectedly been hand delivered through my door from the Elective Home Education Officer. So, I got to typing a letter of reply/annual report on Lillie's laptop almost immediately. I've got it all finished and just need to buy some more ink for the printer before I can post both. Oh, and a stamp. Another Oh, thank you for not sealing the envelope Miss EHEO. I can reuse it to send my reply back to you. All helps contribute to environmental issues - reuse, reduce and recycle :o)
I was annoyed on the one hand cos I had made plans with Lillie but she understood the situation. So on the second hand it felt good to write. Reading it all back made me feel proud in what I believe in and how well Lillie is progressing with all things we know as learning and living. Or to live and learn, one could state! Yes, I think I prefer that way of putting it... Well it's all done now and another thing to tick off for another year. Although, I've not heard anything from them since December 2011 when our Home Education provision was approved. I made a point of stating this in the letter part...
Well moving on, but continuing the reuse, reduce and recycle part of my post, look what I unexpectedly found on Facebook....
How gorgeously sweet and delightful is this? Lillie and I have used broken terracotta pots to create bridges for frogs, over little water features we've put together or crevices for bugs in our garden. Well the broken ones I still have stashed up are going to be turned into something like this picture. I think Springtime will be very productive this year. We shall also get reaquainted with our fruit/veggie patch this year. What's the bettings our move will be put off for another year? Though, I've had another text from someone who is interested in our house. So, no, I must not sway from the path - all these things can still be done elsewhere and we can go the fruit/veg pot route this year and see how moving goes, so plants can be transferred to pastures new. Oh, we shall see... And, I will check this email senders place out for curiousity sake :o)
Oh, forgot to say something else that has unexpectedly happened. This blog has been listed on here
http://blogs.botw.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Education/Home_Education/
I don't know how as I never paid for it to be listed and apparently it's been on the list since 2011. I simply found it by accident. I guess that's my 3 unexpected's... Though, I truly don't mind any more good ones unexpectedly turning up - it's all a little Bilbo Baggins isn't it?
