Twinkling Tuesday

Today has had a really sparkly and uplifting edge to it so far. Work for me ran smoothly compared to yesterday. Lillie has enjoyed the first day out of ten, trialling a website that was recommended by another HEdder - http://www.educationcity.com/  I took a peak at it last night and thought it would be a website Lillie would be interested in. It was fairly late when I stumbled upon it, but Lillie was still awake. I asked her if it would be of any use to her. She immediately confirmed it would. So, I signed her up for the 10 day free trial and have the feeling that I will subscribe to it for a year, at a reduced cost of £10.00 due to HEdding :-)

So, what's Lillie browsed through on there today? Maths, literacy, science and 3 languages: Spanish, French and German. She has spoken a lot about how much fun it was and that she is looking forward to logging in again. I have since recommended the site to a friend who is going to check it out for her daughter to try out during her school summer break.

Lillie has also been relaxing with a science book, while dinner was cooking. She's not picked the book up for some time now, but seemed enthused about what she was reading. She followed me out into the garden, to tell me about magna chambers inside volcanoes. She explained that a magna chamber is like the heart of a volcano.

Talking of the garden, yesterday Lillie and I spent a couple of hours out there. We got a fair amount done - weeding, dead heading, transplanting a couple of tomato plants and a Rosemary bush into larger containers and course a lot of watering! It was so relaxing and quiet out there and a good way for me to de-stress after such a hectic start to my working week (glad it was less full on today). I finished off the garden with a quick mowing of the grass and a little moving around of containers.

Sweetpeas are good for ugly wall coverage - can't wait for the whole wall to be covered. This area smells heavenly when near.

I love it when the grass has just been mowed. Just behind the conifer, top left is where the wildlife pond is hidden. We actually saw a frog in our garden yesterday. We like to think the pond helped our visitor into our garden

Well we've just enjoyed a yummy dinner that we both prepared, cooked and dished up - good old snags (sausages), buttery mashed potato, fresh carrots and broccoli, topped with thick gravy. Tummies are now content. All that is left to do is get the dishes washed, have a bath and then just chill, chill, chill. Happy days!
